Attorney General and Republican candidate for Governor Ken Cuccinelli was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing relating to the recent gift scandal.
On Thursday, according to Politico, Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney Mike Herring said, “there is no evidence that Cuccinelli violated any laws with his belated disclosures.” Cuccinelli had personally asked Herring to examine the situation.
The next focus of the investigation will be on whether McDonnell’s decision not to disclose the gifts violated a conflict-of-interest law for public officials.
