Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell (R.) says he will complete his term despite recent scandals.
At an event in Fairfax County on Tuesday, Gov. McDonnell said, “I’m going to be governor of Virginia for the next 4-and-a-half months,” according to this Washington Post piece. This announcement comes on the heels of a meeting between McDonnell’s attorneys meeting and federal prosecutors to “argue against filing federal charges related to gifts and money [the McDonnells] received from a political donor.”
McDonnell also used the platform to highlight his administration’s most recent budget surplus and friendliness toward veterans, saying, “We are the most veteran-friendly state in the country.”
