Tech Group Endorses Cuccinelli

A Northern Virginia technology group announced its support of Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli, the Hill’s Ballot Box campaign blog reports.

The reason? Apparently Democrat Terry McAuliffe choked in the interview with board members. The Democrat wasn’t on top of his game when speaking with the Northern Virginia Technology Council TechPAC Board of Trustees — a board member commented, “[McAuliffe] didn’t want to be pinned down to any details.” In contrast, Cuccinelli was “precise” and “thoughtful” with his answers to the board members’ questions, according to the National Review news blog.

“The TechPAC Board of Trustees concluded that Ken Cuccinelli’s experience in Virginia government, command of the issues, and knowledge of key technology priorities will serve him well as Governor in working to ensure the Commonwealth remains a competitive and innovative global technology center,” Dendy Young, chairman of the nonpartisan TechPAC and CEO of McLean Capital, LLC, said in a Monday morning statement.

After choosing to endorse Cuccinelli, the PAC received many communications from influential and prominent McAuliffe supporters urging the PAC to reconsider their endorsement, according to the Washington Post.
