A press release from the campaign office of Mark Herring, Mark Obenshain’s opponent in the Attorney General race, indicated that Obenshain has dodged questions regarding the Star Scientific – Governor McDonnell financial relationship. Herring’s campaign office says that this shows Virginians all that they need to know about Obenshain’s ethical standards. Herring said, “Either Senator Obenshain doesn’t have the courage of his convictions or he doesn’t have any ethic convictions at all.” Mark Obenshain defended himself, saying he is “committed to ensuring that the important work of the Attorney General’s office is unimpeded by any inappropriate political influence or even its appearance.” For more details, check out Loudoun Democrats‘ coverage.
